Synopsis:
On Saturday, June 20, 2026, the suspect entered the location and grabbed a pair of sunglasses. The suspect tore the tag off the item and began to walk towards the front of the location. An employee saw the suspect with the unpaid item and alerted the victim who was an off-duty Eagle Pass ISD officer. The employee confronted the suspect in the vestibule with the unpaid item and the victim approached to assist. The victim attempted to get the suspect to comply as he was being arrested for theft and the suspect pulled out a knife and pointed it at the off-duty officer. The off-duty office pulled out his sidearm and followed the suspect as the suspect made his way through the exit doors and into the parking lot. The suspect ran east into the parking area.
