On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 2:41 PM, San Antonio Police Department Officers responded to the Blue Vine Apartments located at 6900 N. Vandiver Road for a dispatched shooting in progress call for service.When officers arrived, they located the victim, Zachary James Leard, deceased with a gun shot wound. Leard was found lying in the parking lot, along the northeast fence line of the property. The victim did not live at the Blue Vine apartments; it is believed that Zachary Leaard was attempting to meet with a person or persons at this location. Video evidence with audio was collected nearby. At 2:37 PM, one (1) gunshot can be heard. At 2:38 PM, the victim's blue 2016 Nissan Rogue can be seen quickly approaching the intersection of Vandiver and Eisenhauer. The vehicle is traveling northbound on Vandiver. The suspect/s and vehicle stop at the intersection and then travel northbound on Vandiver through the Eisenhauer intersection. The vehicle is traveling toward NE Loop 410. On Wednesday, February 22,2023, at 10:54 AM, the victim's stolen vehicle was found unoccupied at The Sundance Apartments, 4615 Gardendale, San Antonio, Texas 78240.
